About

My name is Robert “Siri Chand” Ashton, and I have been teaching Kundalini Yoga for over 35 years.

I started in junior high  doing Yoga out of "Yoga for Americans". It was a simple book , but gave me enough to get started...then after futile attempts to take classes (I was told I was too young) I finally took my first class when I made it to college in Prescott AZ.

That was Maha Deva Ashram of Tuscon AZ. The teacher there was Sat Nam Singh, and it was there I met Gurmukh Kaur (Golden Bridge West) , the Tarn Taran's (3HO Europe) and numerous other teachers that have made their way across the United States and the world.

I was sent to Nebraska to start an Yoga Ashram! That was quite an experience! I was in Omaha, Nebraska for almost 10 years. It was during that time I opened two Golden Temple Restaurants (one was a snack bar),

I taught "Yoga Mat" (Children's Yoga) at the Montessori Schools, as well as adult classes at the local colleges and facilitated yearly workshops with guest teachers.

This was a time of many life changing events for me.  This included the birth of my two daughters, the ashram burning to the ground and coping with winters with 25 foot snow drifts.

But as things go change is constant and so I found myself divorced and living in Washington D.C. for a few years.

Later I started teaching workshops for a friend of mine, Page Oberlin, at her Sea View Inn at Pawley's Island in South Carolina. We called it Wellness Week, and had it every year for over 20 years. It was a winning combination....the beach and the yoga in laid back South Carolina.

After my teacher Yogi Harbhajan Singh Yogi Ji left his physical body, I was called upon to teach and teach and teach. So with the strength of the Guru and under the watchful presence of both Baba Siri Chand and Yogi Ji the mission continues!
